Japanese Gold Thread with my Handmade Lace Jewelry Design
Just the few days ago I oredered very interesting threads. This threads are used in ancient Egypt, Iron Age Northern Europe and Zhou Dynasty China. Examples of surviving Chinese chain stitch embroidery worked in silk thread have been dated to the Warring States period (5th-3rd century BC)
I will feature theese threads in my handmade lace jewelry design as theese threads have been used for centuries to embroider beautiful artwork. My reason for using Japanese gold thread it keeps its luster for generations. Unlike %2 gold thread which will tarnish overtime. This is why I leave the choice of threads to my clients discreation for their custom order.
I also like to mention the piece I just finished it is a turquoise colored lace design in which I fused an abstract element of technique which is wire wrap. This is a lovely combination of vintage and contemporary.
